I’m writing this with builders coming in and out of our flat to repair a broken gutter. Once again, Peep Show got it spot on
A woman in my storytelling class read a great Italo Calvino story about a haunted house (which I now can’t find, anywhere) which got me thinking about his quote about writing, which is also about UX writing:
“My working method has more often than not involved the subtraction of weight.”
I read a lot of good articles this week, some highlights:
It seems like counterintuitive advice but I’m convinced it’s the only way to make money on the internet these days. The article by Cory Doctorow article is over ten years old now but the advice still holds true, particularly this line:
“Most people who download the book don’t end up buying it, but they wouldn'tt have bought it in any event, so I havent lost any sales, I've just won an audience.”
I get a lot of requests for remote working jobs. It’s worth taking a minute to read through this article on the dark side of remote working
. The grass isn’t always greener.
On with the show.
